SEMI-FINAL: ANGOLA CHALLENGED BY TUNISIA, BUT GOES TO FINAL

Par

Angola has made its ticket to the final of the 24th edition of the CAN Senior Women by defeating Tunisia in extra time 27-23 (21 to 21). Angola will meet the winner of Cameroon-Congo

What a game! It’s at the 22mn that Tunisia took the lead 9-8 after a hard race to the score. Then at the 26th minute 11 to 10. The Tunisians could dig the gap of two goals if Rakia Razgui had completed the throw of 7m obtained in the 28th minute. The goalkeeper and captain of the Carthage Eagles, taking advantage of a loss of balls of the opponent, surprises the Angolan keeper and allows her team to take a one goal lead 12-11 at the end of the first half.

Unfortunately, the Tunisians have mismanaged the second half especially in defense. But also attacks poorly handled that will allow the Angolans not only to return to the score but to take the lead 13-15 after 6 minutes of play.
A situation quickly mastered by the Tunisia’s red and white who, thanks to Mouna and Fatma Boury, come back to 1 goal (17-18) after 15 minutes played. They will even manage to equalize (20-20) at the 19th minute before taking the lead at 7 minutes from the end 21-20 after a nice goal by Fatma Bouri.

But it is for a short time because Angola will equalize 21-21. It is on this score that the two teams will be sent to play overtime. The first five minutes will be to the advantage of the Angolans who manage to break away with 3 goals scored in quick succession (24-22).

The second will be the copy of the first. Because the Tunisians will score only one goal while Angola has scored two others. Score of the game 27-23.

Angola qualifies and still hopes to leave with its trophy won in Congo Brazzaville.
