The 12th edition of the African Games, Rabat 2019, will take place from 23 August to 3 September, and will feature 22 disciplines including Handball. To this end, the draw for the group phase produced the following results:
In the women’s category, Angola, 2018 African Cup of Nations Champion in Women’s Handball, is ranked in Group A with DR Congo, Guinea, Nigeria and Morocco. Senegal, runners-up, will find themselves in Group B with three (03) of their last remaining group opponents in the CAN: Tunisia, Cameroon and Algeria. The fourth in the group will be Uganda.
In the Men’s category, Egypt leads Group A with Morocco in second place, Cameroon 3rd, Guinea 4th and Zambia 5th . Angola, Algeria, D.R. Congo, Nigeria and Burkina Faso are in Group B.
