Morocco obtains its ticket for the last four after its victory against Guinea on a score of 24-28. The Atlas Lions obtain by the same occasion their 8th qualification for the men’s World Handball Championship which will take place in 2023 in Poland and Sweden.

The Moroccans had started their journey with a victory against Cameroon (28-34), July 12, before falling against the host country (21-36), the next day. A little pressure before the start of the game against Guinea. With two victories, the players of the Silly National had confidence in their legs and in their heads. Two facts that make that the match should be hard fought as it was the rest.

Lilian Pasquet, Epanouh David Michèle, Pierre Rubens and Doisel Brayan (each 6 goals) for Guinea had the hand to make the difference. On the other hand, Bentaleb Mohamed Amine (8 goals) and Ismaili Aliou Mehdi (10 goals) were the driving forces for the Moroccans. The lions of the Atlas who had been worried at a moment (12-8) in the first period will lean on the sides to penetrate the Guinean defense which ended up letting go. Hence the systematic equalization (12-12) and then take the advantage to win at halftime (14-13).

The second part will be identical to the first, because the Moroccans will continue on the same pace by even widening the gap (21-18). By dominating this second half (14-11), Morocco wins, painfully anyway, (28-24).
