The Angolan national team won the 22nd Women’s African Cup of Nations Handball in Luanda Wednesday 7 December 2016, with the Edith Lucy BONGO ONDIMBA Trophy, against Tunisia, the title holder.
The Palencas Negras who cheered their revenge since 2014 against the Tunisians, took up the challenge by imposing on them on the score of 37 to 17 (Mi time 16-7)
Angola thus won its 12th African title, and the 1st edition of the Trophy Edith Lucie BONGO ONDIMBA.
Cameroon ranks 3rd after the disqualification of Senegal, with a qualification at the next World Championship in Germany, with Angola and Tunisia.
The next edition of the Women’s African Cup of Nations will take place in 2018 in Brazzaville (Congo).
