Dear Handball Friends,

Senegal, one of the countries where our sport feels at home, is hosting the 2019 edition of the Olympic Games “Tokyo 2020” Qualifying Tournament.

This tournament, which has won its nobility through the enthusiasm it arouses, will bring together the national women’s sections of Angola, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal from 26 to 29 September 2019.

To organize such a prestigious event like this is, above all, a privilege and a great joy. We will attend a real celebration of women’s handball in Dakar.

This year 2019, the African Handball Confederation has written a beautiful page of its history with delightful results:

– The Men’s World Championship in January 2019 with respectively 8th and 12th place won by Egypt and Tunisia thus offering 2 additional places to Africa for the World 2021,

– The Men’s World Junior Championship (U21) in July 2019, where Egypt ranked 3rd and Tunisia 7th

– The Men’s World Youth Championship (U19) in July, with an historic 1st place for the  Egypt, World Champion

– The 1st edition of the Super Globe for Women in August 2019, with the victory of Angola’s Primero de Agosto.

Inspired by the undeniable and memorable success of our presence on the world stage, we are motivated to work now to do even better in the coming years.

I would like to reiterate my gratitude to the Senegalese authorities for the mark of confidence they have shown to our institution.

This is an opportunity to acknowledge the work done by the Senegalese Handball Federation.

I would like to congratulate the Organising Committee and all the parties who have mobilised. They will continue to work to the end to make SENEGAL TQO 2019 a huge success.

For the coaches of the national teams, the dream of winning the ticket to the 2020 Olympic Games is firmly rooted in their minds. The athletes are there, well motivated and looking for a challenge.

Shining his talent could be the motto! Let’s get to the game!  Long live Handball!

Thank you very much!
