As part of its policy to promote women’s sports, the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Mali in collaboration with its privileged partner Moov Africa Malitel through its gender commission headed by Makou Sy organized this gala night dedicated to 10 women who have distinguished themselves in their respective sectors.

Thus among the 10 winners, some names are known to the general public.
Among these, we can mention among others: Hamchetou Maiga, former international basketball player, African champion, Assa Soumare, the first female sports journalist in our country and Fanta I. Koné who is currently the pride of our country at the level of arbitration.

During the said evening, some special prizes were also awarded. Among the recipients of these distinctions we have Mossa Ag Attaher, Minister of Youth and Sports, Civic Education and Citizen Construction and Commissioner / Lieutenant Colonel Cheick Mohamed Cherif Tounkara, President of the Malian Handball Federation.

Chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in charge of civic education and civic construction Amadou Diarra Yalcouye and in the company of several distinguished guests, the event held all its promises.

With the wonderful Wassa and her orchestra to ensure the animation, this special night was truly a springboard in the policy of valuing women’s know-how in the field of sports.

Congratulations to the president Mrs. Sy Aminata Makou Traoré known as Makou Sy and her committee for the success of the event and special mention to the president of the CNOSM Habib Sissoko who spares no effort especially when it comes to the promotion of women’s sports.

We are looking forward to other initiatives of this kind to allow these NYELENIS to be celebrated at their true value.
