IHF celebrates its 75th anniversary with the 2nd edition of the International Handball Week
Every year, from July 12 to 18, the International Handball Week takes place. For seven full days, it will be an opportunity to celebrate Handball and those who play it. It begins with a very special day, July 12, the day of the foundation of the International Handball Federation in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1946.
This year’s celebration has a special character as the IHF is also celebrating its 75th anniversary. In his message, IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa congratulates every member of the handball family for their hard work and encourages all 209 national federations to talk about their respective activities during this International Handball Week.
The International Handball Week celebrations will include an overview of the IHF history, thematic days and games.
Indeed, « the IHF is also collaborating with the German Handball Federation on this occasion, taking the opportunity of the Olympic Preparation Tournament taking place in Germany from 9-11 July to create a special anniversary edition of the IHF « Be A Manager » game. Fans will be able to play the game during the tournament, and the top two finishers will receive a prize and a certificate. More information on how to participate will follow in due course, » reports ihf.info, the official website.
The International Handball Federation invites all members of the handball community to follow its social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) to live the event and contribute to all the media coverage. In the same spirit, the IHF also encourages Handball fans to take part in this celebration, using the hashtag #handballweek, on their social networks.
