PRESS RELEASE
Meeting in extraordinary session held by videoconference on 28th March 2022, the Council of CAHB proceeded to the examination of the conditions of preparation and organization of the 25th edition of the Men’ Seniors Africa Nations Cup planned in 2022 in Morocco and the 26th edition of the Men’ Seniors Africa Nations Cup planned in 2024 in Algeria.
By appreciating the report of the Executive Committee, the Council notes that the extra-sporting divergences deeply marred the relations between the Royal Moroccan Handball Federation (FRMHB) and the Algerian Handball Federation (FAHB),
It results from it that despite the efforts deployed to avoid the boycott by certain participating teams, the Council notes with a deep regret that divergences still persist and are likely to put in danger the good progress of those events.
Consequently, the Council, after evaluation of the situation and, in compliance with the principle to not allow the members who are concerned to take part in the debates, decided which follows:
1 / Withdrawal of the organization of the 25th edition of the Men’ Seniors Africa Nations Cup (2022) from the Royal Moroccan Handball Federation.
2 / Withdrawal of the organization of the 26th edition of the Men’ Seniors Africa Nations Cup (2024) from the Algerian Handball Federation.
