D1: Bandama wins its 3rd title

Champions of Côte d’Ivoire with their success (31-26) last weekend during the 9th day against Africa Sports, the girls of Bandama HBC dreamed of finishing on an high note. Especially against Habitat HBC which has beaten them twice this season.

Well launched in this game, Bandama HBC of Tiassalé dominates the Abobolese from the beginning. But pushed by the minister Kandia Camara, a glory of the Ivorian handball and Mayor of Abobo, Habitat played a great game. The change of tactics with a high defense hinders the fillies of Christophe Yavo and puts back in the saddle those of coach Blessy. However, the break sounded with a lead (12-16) of Moses Sasso’s team. At the second half, Charlène Tapé, Habitat’s captain, and her teammates left what worked so well in the first act. This was a blessing for Bandama HBC, which consolidated its lead and won in the end (29-34).

« We had the objective to achieve the 1-2 this season. The leaders have put the means for. And in the final of the national cup, we made a mistake. This allowed Habitat HBC to win the trophy. There, we were champions since the 9th day but we wanted to win this game to show that it is Bandama HBC T, the best team in the national cup, « said Christophe Yavo, the coach of Bandama HBC.

Bosson Taï, the captain of Bandama for his part welcomes this beautiful revenge. « These are feelings of joy that animate me. When you have been beaten twice by a team and you lose the national cup, when we succeed in the third confrontation to pin a victory, it is phenomenal. Especially that we also have the title, it’s the perfect thing, » she said.

Bandama HBC now holds in his lap 03 titles of champion of Côte d’Ivoire won in 2016, 2018 and 2022. The formation of Tiassalé also totals two national cups won in 2018 and 2021 without forgetting the two super cups collected in 2019 and 2022. The next step of the club for the president Moses Sasso will be the African Clubs Championship.
