The training of coaches to obtain the IHF D license starts in a friendly way

After the training in administrative management, the zonal phase of the tournament for girls under 18 years and the training of league referees and technical delegates, the Beninese Handball Federation is launching its fourth activity under the Women’s Sport Project supported by the French Embassy in Benin. It is about the training of female coaches.

This training will take place from 18 to 25 September 2022 in Cotonou. It will be led by Paul Landuré of France, from the Commission of coaches and methods (CCM) of the International Handball Federation (IHF). The opening ceremony of this training took place on Monday, September 19, 2022. The training will be held in two parts: a theoretical phase and a practical phase.

Under the orders of the expert of the International Handball Federation Paul Landuré, the 36 trainees during one week will benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the trainer. During the opening ceremony of the said training, the latter showed his joy regarding the great number of participants and said he was ready to give his best to help them achieve their goals. « I am particularly impressed by this operation set up here in Benin … I participated, in early 2018, to the beginnings of this operation. So to see today materialize with so many women motivated and ready to participate in the development of sports in Benin, it is really a great joy to participate. It is a pride and a great responsibility for me to give you the maximum of my experience. Also, to help you build the future of Beninese handball, » said the former coach of the women’s U-20 of France. « At the end of this training, we want our coaches to be able to bring to the sports classes and clubs they are responsible for, other skills and training dynamism. With this type of training and the more regular structure that accompanies it, I am convinced that Benin will soon have much more competitive national youth teams.
