The Pharaohs are African champions for the 2nd time in a row!

Egypt remains on the roof of Africa. Defending champions, the Pharaohs won tonight the 25th edition of the Men’s Senior Africa Nations Cup by beating Cape Verde 37-25 (24-12).

It was a one-way game because the Egyptians led by Omar Yahia, Ammar Ahmad and especially Omar El Wakil (elected MVP) have dominated from start to finish the blue sharks who had no solution against the Egyptian offensive. The score at halftime is revealing of the domination of the Egyptians. 11 goals difference before reaching the break, the mass was already said.

The second period will be the confirmation of the first one and Egypt wins without effort (37-25).

With this victory the Egyptian national team records its eighth continental title and overtakes Morocco which also totals seven titles. The Pharaohs are getting closer to Tunisia which is ahead in terms of achievements with 10 titles.

The Blue Sharks of Cape Verde who have just played their first final in their history have also won their first continental medal with the title of vice champions of Africa.

This marks the end of the 25th edition of the Men’s Senior Africa Nations Cup – Egypt 2022.
